Educational Informatics

Dear colleagues,

We are glad to invite you to participate in the Workshop “Educational Informatics”. The workshop will be a satellite event of the 9th Ershov Informatics Conference PSI'14 to be held on June 24 - 27, 2014, in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The workshop is devoted to the state-of-the-art in educational informatics and the problems of its development, as well as to its history and promising directions. Urgent problems will be presented from the viewpoints of a researcher and a teacher.

In addition to regular talks, a "round table" session will be held on the problems of educational informatics and methodology of teaching informatics. The topic to be discussed is "How modern technologies in informatics teaching can influence the worldview formation".

The workshop will be held under the slogan "Informatics in the early 3rd millennium".

Workshop language

The working language of the workshop is Russian.

Topics

Educational Informatics workshop addresses the following topics:

  • Basic paradigms and educational models;
  • Modern technologies in teaching informatics;
  • Educational environments for informatics;
  • Distant, local and active training styles;
  • Successful teaching experience and methodological problems;
  • History of educational informatics and the human factor.

Submissions

To apply for participation, the author should submit a paper containing original contributions that have not been published or submitted to other conferences/journals. There are two kinds of submissions:

  • regular paper describing fully developed work and complete results (12 pages / 30 minute talk);
  • short paper reporting on interesting work in progress and/or preliminary results (7 pages / 15 minute talk)

Submissions should also include a short abstract together with personal information, such as the author’s name, affiliation, phone and fax numbers, postal and e-mail addresses.

The paper should be submitted as a document in *.doc or *.rtf format.

Please send your submissions and applications for participation to the Workshop Secretary tanja@iis.nsk.su not later than March, 31, 2014.

The authors will be notified about the PC decision by April, 20, 2014. Final versions of the accepted papers should be sent to the secretary till May, 10, 2014.

Proceedings

A volume of the Workshop Proceedings will be given to the authors at registration or sent by post to those who will not be able to come.
